Jon Gauger's upbeat reading delivers the energy needed to keep this crash course moving. Too many ideas are condensed without being brought together by a memorable theme or set of principles, and the result is choppy and disengaging. Gauger's pace and pleasing voice are a much needed constant. Many of the sentences and paragraphs offer familiar advice and, by themselves, these passages make great sense. But to create a four-hour audio that listeners can use, these segments need to present an integrated idea they can connect with. What is offered instead amounts to a series of discreet points with no conceptual glue. T.W. (c) AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine
